My intent is always to write with passion, diligence and integrity. My inclination is to amplify diverse, lesser-known subjects.
Laurie Cone is a Manhattan-based writer and the co-founder of PINE—a printed journal, featuring underrepresented and minority artists. As executive editor of PINE, Laurie covered arts and culture in New York and abroad. MoMA PS1 picked PINE as a "New and Notable Title" and included Laurie on a select “Women in Magazine Publishing” list. Prior to this, Laurie worked in development at The Jewish Museum (on Fifth Avenue and 92nd Street) and earned her MA in Visual Culture from New York University. She was chosen to present her thesis at the university’s annual Visual Culture Symposium and went on to further study at University of London, Goldsmiths. In addition to PINE, Laurie has researched and written for an academic journal, congressional campaign, design firm and fashion industry trade publications.
